The aim of PPS and members


The aim of the Polish Physical Society (founded in 1920) is advancement and diffusion of the knowledge of physics, integration of all physicists independently of their place of employment and representation of physicists' community.

In order to become a member of PPS it is necessary to fill up an application form and pay the PPS membership fee. It is obligatory to attach to the application a support signed by two members of PPS.


Membership

  • total number of ordinary members: 2056
    • school teachers: about 10%
    • students (including postgraduate students): 5.5%
    • pensioners: 7.6%
    • others (mainly scientific workers): 76.9%
  • PPS membership fee (1 US$ = 3.1 zloty, 1 € = 4.1 zloty):
    • full professors and associate professors: 72 zloty (82 zl from 1.01.2008)
    • students and young employees: 24 zloty
    • pensioners: free
    • other members: 42 zloty (48 zloty from 1.01.2008)
  • associate members (mainly scientific institutes): 12
    • minimum fee: 500 zloty
